Marketing projects/mini drops: A guide

Side Projects have been on the rise for quite some time now. Especially in the past year, the number of projects being built by new makers/indie hackers has grown exponentially. Some of the projects launched have even evolved into being made into full-fledged startups and have grown profitable (Spoiler:🤫). Makers have left their full-time jobs to work on their projects turned startups. They are a great way to generate passive income and earn while you sleep

So how do we market them?:

  1. Build In Public 🔨: Check out this link https://publiclab.co/building-in-public
  2. Learn SEO and use it to your advantage: Search Engine Optimization,(now a buzzword), is the most important strategy to use. Google is the best form of traffic and if your SEO is good you will be rewarded in the long run with new users and a lower churn rate.
  3. Build Projects that have virality inbuilt 🤑: Viral content is something that people really want to share organically. Look for product ideas that work without you having to market them.
  4. Post your project on Product Hunt💯: Product Hunt is a major source of traffic as was in my case with No code hunt. We got to 3rd place on PH and I gained around 100 email subscribers and some traffic to the site. If you already have an audience then a PH launch can do wonders.
  5. Share your project and put a post on HackerNews: You will get really high-quality feedbacks/suggestions and good traffic from Hacker News.
  6. Partner with similar projects in your niche and share it with the world🤝
  7. Blog about it on Medium: Write about the problem that you are solving and then offer your project as a solution
  8. Put up ads on a newsletter in your niche

That’s it. You have got 8 superb ways to get your side project visible in front of the world. Share down in the comments what you are building 🔥.

Any comments/questions, put em down in the comments.
