Video Editing is an essential skill. It allows you to make excellent videos and improve your video skills, lol.

Index:

  1. Introduction
  2. In-Depth

No really, Video editing is an important skill for the century especially when you need to add your style to a particular video. And the best way to learn it is by experimentation. But there is another more traditional way which is through youtube videos.

I also managed to create a cool video and add all these effects. Now, there are three major things that are basic and essential inside video editing.

  1. Effects
  2. Titles
  3. And VFX(nodes)

This brings you into the mainstream and allows you to build brilliant videos.

To make a legit video, you need to do 3 things:

a. Great content

b. Engaging visuals

c. Great editing which makes the video interesting to see.

So, there are a bunch of cool video editing applications available, but the top three are:

  1. Premiere Pro (paid)
  2. Da Vinci Resolve (freemium)
  3. Hitfilm (open source)

So, I had checked out premier pro before but I didn’t quite like it and I had stopped learning this skill anymore. But then I learned about da Vinci and how it is the best. from Hollywood movies to great speeches, everyone uses it.

So, I started off by installing the free version of Da Vinci resolve and I have to admit, the opening screen was a bit intimidating at first

Next, I moved to the website and found out a few training videos(https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/au/products/davinciresolve/training. I decided to start off with them. They gave me quite an intro to da Vinci and it was a wee bit similar to premier pro too. I then added a video of mine and decided to follow the instructions in my file.

Next, I decided to explore the various features. I would just click, add and check.

Then I checked out the second video on VFXing and fusion. And followed the process again of experimenting and just exploring things on my own

Through this singularly categorical process, I learned video editing.
